Family Fun Day – Sat 23rd Sept

We’re running our now annual Family Fun Day this year on Saturday 23rd September!

We’ll have fun and games, with taster sessions, refreshments and music spread across the Community Centre, St Michaels and All Angels church opposite and the church lawn.

We have popular fitness instructor Sarah Langford giving a free taster class of fitness pilates at 2pm-2:45pm in the large hall. If you’ve always fancied doing pilates do come along and try it for free! Sarah runs several classes weekly at the hall.

At 3pm – 3.45pm local choir leader Rosie Sleightholme will lead a free harmony singing workshop teaching some simple songs to brighten up your day. You don’t need any singing experience to join in as Rosie will teach by ear. Rosie runs three local community choirs Folks and Bairns Parent & Baby ChoirThe Rising SunSingers (both at St Michael & All Angels) and People of Note (at St Pauls in Southville). Message the choir’s Facebook page if you’d like to book a free taster for the new term.

Lucy Fox, who runs the popular childrens after school Art Club at the Community Centre on a Tuesday, will be doing a crafty hour for children from 3pm in the small hall

Amongst others from 2-4pm in the Small Hall to chat to residents will be our local councillors Lisa Stone and Ed Plowden, BS3 Wildlife Group, Victoria Park Action Group (VPAG) Action Greater Bedminster and trustees from the Community Centre.

There will be fun and games on the church lawn from 2-4pm with all the old favourites like guess the name of the cuddly toy, hoop-la, tin can knockdown and much more and lots of prizes for the children!

Refreshments will be served from the church hall 2-4pm.

The bar will be open in the evening from 6.30pm and we’ve got our local favourites, Hester Miller, South Bristol Ukes, Alan Stilton, Goldfinches and The Big However playing from 7.15pm.
